SoloMed Contingency Software

Picture

After months of development work Dakota IS launched the SoloMed product in response to many NHS trusts dilemma of how to continue to print patient wristbands out under NPSA guidelines (Safer Practice notice 24 refers) in instances where the PAS system may not be available.

SoloMed has bridged the gap perfectly as a contingency software solution that many trusts see as the answer to such dilemmas. The solution provided by many suppliers is to simply revert to handwritten bands, however, this obviously introduces risk back in to the process which is unacceptable in many trusts eyes.

SoloMed is a standalone wristband printing solution deployed at PC level in strategic areas throughout the trust. The interface is easy to use & allows trusts to enter the requisite patient info via the user PC as normal whilst PAS is unavailable. This intuitive piece of software will thereafter carry out the requisite checks to ensure conformity with the NPSA guidelines & amend the key patient data where necessary. For example where the patient surname has been entered in lower case letters, SoloMed automatically converts these in to upper case.

Product Features:

  • Standalone software that resides on the PC not the clients server
  • Ensures conformity to NPSA SaferPractice notice no.24 guidelines
  • Automatically converts input data to upper case surname & checks the correct NHS digits
  • Removes risk from the identification of patients in instances where PAS is unavailable.
