Dakota Managed Services
At Dakota we pride ourselves on the level of customer service we provide for our clients. An important feature of our aftercare service is how we support clients post implementation/commissioning.
Dakota Managed Services division (DMS) helps support clients on post implementation back up. Typically for larger rolls out of mobile technology (whether this be printing or mobile PDA’s) our DMS team take the pain away from customers by managing the whole repairs process from start to finish. Whilst Zebra printers are covered by a standard manufacturer’s warranty of 12 months (6 months for the printheads & 3 months for the battery) & PDA’s are covered by up to a 24 months warranty (batteries 3 months) there will inevitably be times when devices break or become non-functional.
With a potential estate of hundreds of deployed units (PDA’s & printers) Dakota IS would strongly recommend a Managed Service contract to effectively deal with the “repair loop” whilst maintaining minimal downtime for operatives.
A Managed Service contract from Dakota IS can be tailored to meet the clients requirements, however, would typically incorporate a mix of the following:
- Dedicated helpdesk telephone number
- 2nd line support & helpdesk (assuming 1st line support is by Nationwide CRC)
- Advanced next day swap out of faulty unit
- Quarterly management status reports on repaired units
- Buffer stock management
- Customer Application Support & Staging of the units including loading of applications
- Mobile Remote Device Management
- Full Repair Service
The advantages of a Managed Service contract from Dakota would be as follows:
- All repairs managed by one company
- Regular management reporting means full asset inventory can be maintained
- Advanced, next day replacement means minimal operative downtime/loss of revenue
- Buffer stock managed by competent service providers
- All units are returned with any applications pre-loaded, therefore, ready to go.
- Less onerous for dedicated resource to manage
- Dedicated phone line for 2nd line support
- Price covers all return carriage back from Dakota
- Repair loop managed seamlessly as part of the contract.
The printer repairs would be covered as follows:
- Functional failure
- Wear & tear
- Cosmetic damage that affects printer functionality
- Printhead replacement not included (as this is deemed a consumable item)
- Turnaround time typically 6 days from receipt
The Dakota Managed Services options can be scaled up or down dependent upon customer requirements.
